BIO
Chen Peng / 彭宸 is a Taiwanese artist based in Hoboken, NJ. Working across painting and ceramics, Peng creates still lifes that blend real and imagined worlds. Her works function as personal, shrine-like landscapes—collections of objects, images of dogs, and ceramic sculptures she made that hold memory, emotion, and humor. Through these arrangements, Peng explores daily routines, companionship, and tenderness.
Peng has shown her work in New York, Boston, Cleveland, Columbus, and Taipei, and has participated in artist residencies at the Studios at MASS MoCA, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Wassaic Project. Her work was featured in New American Paintings and Art Maze Magazine, and is included in several public collections, including the Cleveland Institute of Art, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Clinic, and Fidelity Corporate Art Collection, among others.
Peng holds an MFA in Painting from Boston University (2022) and a BFA in Painting from Cleveland Institute of Art (2016). Before moving to the United States, she received a BA in Philosophy from National Taiwan University. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches art and advocates for animal rights, creating illustrations for the Taiwan Animal Equality Association since 2018.
